Deadly attack on Pakistan bus

Armed men have attacked a bus in Pakistan, killing at least 10 people.

The bus was attacked on Friday night in Aab-e-Gum in the southwest of the country, 75km from the border city of Quetta.
"A group of 30 to 35 gunmen stopped the bus in Aab-e-Gum area, off-loaded passengers at gunpoint and shot dead 10 of them," Akbar Hussain Durrani, a senior provincial home department official, said.
Another five people were injured in the attack, Ismail Kurd, a police official, said.
All of the victims were from the eastern Punjab province, Kurd said.
Quetta is the capital of Baluchistan province, close to the border with Afghanistan.
The attack occurred on the eve of Independence Day in Pakistan, the celebrations for which have been muted as the country is currently suffering its worst ever flooding since becoming a state.
